【1】 続くは、ある場所から立ち去らずに居座る場合には、linger. これに対して last は継続する期間に焦点があり、for～という形でどれだけの長さを示す。例文の場合、to last for another monthと書き換えられる。
【2】 高騰するのするは、send 名詞 ～ingの形で「名詞を悪い状態にする」という意味で、send prices climbing anewとなっている。
